Mauritius – the jewel of the Indian Ocean

The tiny tropical island is named as best place to do business in Africa, with a booming economy and a growing entrepreneurial ecosystem. With the population of 1.3 million people and size only at 45 by 65 kilometres whole island feels like a one city. Mauritius is the safest country in Africa with multi racial and peaceful people. Fascinating cultural diversity is reflected in the dining scene, with French, Creole, African and Indian cuisines. Along with Cape Town, it is the best place in Africa for location independent entrepreneurs.

The best time to visit Mauritius is June through September. Water is still warm, but it’s not hot and humid any more. It’s windy season with much less tourists and prices are the lowest. Beautiful lagoon with warm water and the best wave kitesurfing spot in the world right next to each other, does it sound too good to be true? When it comes to kitesurfing and windsurfing it doesn’t get any better than Le Morne in Mauritius, and it’s perfect place for beginners. Besides watersports, catamaran sailing and beautiful white sand beaches, other popular activities are hiking, mountain trekking, diving, golf and skydiving.

Testimonials

It was my first time in Mauritius and I’ve had an amazing time, guys from CoworKite were exceptional. It was a great experience to be part of workation and meet like minded people. Apart from the house, organization was really good, but still with plenty of freedom.
I was able to combine my love for kitesurfing with working on my business. Thanks a lot CoworKite, I already booked my next Mauritius trip.

The last 5 weeks with Coworkite allowed me to combine my two biggest passions: Kitesurfing and running my business. I found that being able to work from a place that allows me to kite almost every day while connecting with like minded entrepreneurs freed my mind and actually made me more productive. On top of improving my kitesurfing skills I've also made several really good friends. I'm looking forward to joining Coworkite workation again!
